From early days at the Forum in blue and gold, to rooting on legendary icons like Gretzky and Robitaille, to seeing the Stanley Cup raised on Kings ice, LA Kings fans have been a constant. This devoted fan base is the sixth largest in the NHL and has been central to the growth in hockey’s popularity on the West Coast. LA Kings fans are also the most diverse and the most affluent in the league.
February 23, 1980 was the first LA Kings game I had ever seen. My first game, I looked around and saw many empty seats. Now, four decades later, I see a diverse cross-section of fans that represent the diverse cross-section of every neighborhood that is the City of Angels, and I’m proud to consider many of these diverse Kings fans as my hockey family!
